    The Invisible Wings

    每一次 都在徘徊孤單中堅強
Each time I face loneliness, i'm stronger

    每一次 就算很受傷也不閃淚光
Each time even when i'm deeply hurt,
    i hold off my tears

    我知道 我一直有雙隱形的翅膀
I know that I have a pair of invisible
    wings that will allow

    me to fly
    帶我飛 飛過絕望
    To fly over my despair

    不去想 他們擁有美麗的太陽
I would not envy the beautiful
    sun that they have

    我看見 每天的夕陽 也會有變化
I can see that the dusk is different everyday

    我知道 我一直有雙隱形的翅膀
I know I have a pair of invisible wings that will
    allow me to fly

    帶我飛 給我希望
    To give me hope.

    我終於看到 所有夢想都開花
I'm finally able to see my own
    dreams come true

    追逐的年輕 歌聲多嘹亮
    Youthfulness that is being
    chased after, the voice becomes
    resonant.

    我終於翺翔 用心凝望不害怕
    I finally take the flight.
I'll look forward and I am not afraid
    .

    哪裏會有風 就飛多遠吧
I would fly how far the wind takes me to.

    隱形的翅膀 讓夢恒久比天長
The invisible wings allow dreams to last forever.

    留一個願望 讓自己想像
I’ll keep one wish for my own imagination.

Why I Deserve A Million Dollar

As i was filling up the forms for my
    application to two universities with
Monash Uni as my first choice and
Queensland Uni as my second choice,
the tuition fees for both Uni kept
    bothering my mind.

Monash tuition fees per year = $20,000 Aussie
Queensland tuition fees per year= $ 18,000 Aussie

And that isnt even inclusive of rental for the house,
electricity bill, water bill, phone line bill, food
and basic necessities needed for the house!

So one year, it would come to a proximity
of RM 100,00. And the fact that i need
another two years more before i get my
degree, that would be RM 200,000.

But is a degree even enough to
    call yourself a psychologist?

The answer is a big NO

To be considered a real psychologist,
you need Masters and that would
    be an additional 2-3 years,
which now sums up to the amount
    of RM 500,000.

    Furthermore, i'm still considering
whether i wanna be majoring in
    the field of industrial psychology
    or clinical psychology?

If i were to major in industrial psy,
then maybe i can save the RM 300,000
cause i dont really see the point of
getting a Masters just to end up as a
    HR in a company.

But somehow, my interest is more
    towards clinical psychology.
    Yes, tough field.
I would have to go through
training for about 1-2 years and
    most clinical psychologist that
i know of, they end up getting
    a doctorate. Means they do
    PhD.

And if i'm gonna go that
far to be a clinical psychologist,
why not just spend another few
years to get a doctorate right?

So does that mean, if i were to
    get my PhD which probably
    takes another 3-4 years,
    the accumulated amount of
fees i would have to pay
    (eventhough PhD program
could be a lot more expensive),
    would come close to
    RM 900,000?

    Is it worth it?

For me, the answer is yes
    because i'm pretty determined
that this is the field for me.
    And furthermore, clinical
    psychologists (depending where
as well) make big $$, of course
    coming in 2nd compared
    to a psychiatrist.

But i am not the one paying
the RM 900,000. So who am
i to say whether it's worth it
or not. And to think about
it, RM 900,000 is a super
    huge sum of money.

    If you're a fresh graduate
with a pretty good pay of
RM 4 000 per month, it would
take you almost 18 years before
you could pay that sum off.

    Basically, what really bothers me
is that I AM NOT THE ONE
paying for it, but my dad is.

But am i really asking too
    much this time round?

    I was already
    given the best since young-
    Comfortable BUT SUCKY
    kindergarten, primary school
    & high school- my very
    BELOVED SRI UTAMA
    SCHOOL!

    And school fees
    wasnt even that cheap
    since the school
    would charge us for
    almost every single thing
    that we actually DO NOT
    EVEN USE like for example,
    the swimming pool,
    the library, the computer lab!

    And i ACTUALLY studied
in Sri Utama for 12 years
    and the accumulated fees
    came up to RM 100,000!

For me, i always believe in depending
on myself and not leave a burden to
    anyone regardless whether it's a
family member or a friend. To get
my father to pay such a big sum
for my education, that's a real big
    burden for him!

And he's not only paying for my
education, not to forget, i have
a brother who did 3 years in
    the States for his degree
    and now doing his PhD
    which probably takes another
    4-6 years. That's long!

    Hmm but my brother is
    still not the big problem
    since he had always been
    capable of getting scholarships!

    Oh what about me then?
To think that i have to rely
on someone so much, scares me so!
Especially since this is not moral
support which could easily be given but
actually a sum of money that had taken years
of hardwork and late nights before it could
sit comfortably still in the bank account
but will be used up all at one go very
    soon.

Though i do not have a single experience
in working but i know it's not easy earning
    money!

So imagine what i could do with my
    million dollar worth of cash.
    Money for my education.
    Money for my savings.
    Money for my own use.

Do not have to depend on anyone
    at all.

Do not have to feel guilty each
time i splash my money on
    clothes knowing that the money
isnt even mine in the first place.

    Would not feel useless because
yes, i am the type of person
who is reluctant to use other
    ppl's money because it makes
    me feel ashame of myself.
Not that i am not as capable
as others as i believe everyone
is equally as capable, so there's
    no reason why a person
    should be using other ppl's
    money?

    And away from the topic,
    i look down on girls
    who use their bfs money
all the time. It only gives
    people the impression
    that girls are useless
    and need to depend on
    guys to live. So darn
    pathetic.
    Help retain female dignity
    PLEASE!

But anyway at the time being,
i better get back to reality
    and question myself whether to
achieve my dream or to abandon
it for the wellness of others?

    Tough choice indeed since philosophers
had been debating on their views
    as well for decades:

    self interest VS hedonism.

    August Rush

"owh so fast, but mommie i dont wanna go
    back to school"

    Sounds rather familiar towards the
end of every holiday, don't you think so?

    Well unfortunately i'm not an
exception to that as well. *sigh*

My one and a half months of holiday
    officially ended last Sunday. Feeling
    absolutely unmotivated to go back
to college and i do notice that
my brain is turning rather rusty
since it has not been used for
    the past one month.

    I remember last week, Camie
    PM-ed me through MSN
    asking me this

"kath, is there colloquium for counselling psy?"

and this was what i replied her

    "Urmxx, what is colloquium again?"

Yeps, that's how rusty my brain really is.
Anyway, i have attended my first two classes
for Developmental Psychology & Public Speaking.

So far for developmental psychology, everything
seems to be turning out really good. Ms. Ju Li
is new and she's darnnn nice =) i love nice
    lecturers & lenient ones! ooops!

BUT public speaking seems to be a nightmare.
This is the course outline for public speaking:-

Introductory speech based on a person or object 10%
    Informative speech 20%
    Commemorative speech 25%
    Persuasion speech 30%
    Mid Terms exam 15%

Well good news is that there's no final examination.
Bad news is that THE LECTURER IS
SUPER STRICT and lotsa ppl gets like C or D
for his course AND AND AND wth, i have
    so many darn speeches! *faints*

Anyway moving on from the bad things,
here's a movie that i recommend in the
month of august. It's known as
    "August Rush". Starring Freddie
    Highmore, Keri Rusell & Jonathan
    Rhys Meyers.

    It's an absolutely beautiful movie.
If you love music, this is a MUST-
watch. Music is basically the one
thing that brought all the characters
    together.

    However, one thing i didn't
like was the ending. It was like
all 3 of them were just looking
and smiling at each other and it
just ends there. I mean the audience
    would want more, eventhough
that is supposedly a happy ending
but it still leaves the audience
    hanging right there. The movie
should have ended with a stronger
    solution-based to give a harder
    impact on the audience.

Anyway overall i still give it a
    8/10 for the very well
    concept of the storyline!
    One of the highest
i would give for a movie.

    Freddie Highmore is
    definitely a good actor
for his age and he has
    definitely grown
so much since the last time
    we saw him in Charlie's
    Chocolate Factory.
He was able to play his
    role really well, displaying
    the emotions that is needed
    to complement the storyline.
    Absolutely fantastic.
    And i think they chose
the right actor to actually play
    this part because damn, Freddie
    Highmore's eyes is absolutely
    mesmerizing- same as Jonathan
    Rhys Meyers ones. Furthermore,
just can't help the fact that
Jonathan Rhys Meyers is a total
    eye-candy. And he looks really
    compatible with Keri Rusell, so
that's an extra for the movie.

Away from movies, i am so happy this
week because my It's Hyorish- Album 3
    Limited Edition has finally arrived.
    Absolutely beautiful! The package of
the album is just so pretty. It is as
huge as a laser disc- totally classic!

The album is pretty good- if again
you're not easily sick with hip hop
music. I can see she's trying out
different type of styles now but
i would love it more if she has more
    slow ballads.

Yesterday, baby & I went to One Utama
after my class ended. We watched
"Don't Mess with the Zohan" which
i thought was just so-so! Nothing
much to shout about because there
    are funnier movies out there.

One Utama is so freaking boring.
    Seriously, i'm getting sick of
shopping malls! See the same old
    brands, nothing unique at all.
Though i love my MNG but
i try to avoid getting clothes from
    MNG because MNG is everywhere
and if i can buy it, other ppl in
    Malaysia can as well.

And that's the problem, i dont
wanna be wearing the same shirt
as others. I think i'll have to get
    my clothes from boutiques now.
I read Jing Ying's blog and she
& Shee May went to Bangsar to
shop. The clothes from all the
lil boutiques were just so pretty
and cute. I'm so gonna go there
and check it out one day!

    We had Big Apple again
    yesterday. How lovely. But urmz,
    i still love J.Co better. If you're
a big fan of donuts then you
    would know the difference
    between J.Co and Big Apple's
    donuts. They look the same
    but they taste different.

For dinner, we went to Zuup.
    Normally we only come here
for lunch, so we dont know
what food they've got to offer
    us at night. I love
    Zuup, the ambience is
    good eventhough the
shop is really small. And they
    have nice and soft cushions
    and pillows
    =)

    This is Zuup =)

    Baby & I

=) Bb is reading magazines provided by
    Zuup...!

So here comes our chilled pink
    guava juice! It's really nice!

Baby's fav- the oxtail soup that we ordered

Baby and his really CHEESY spag!
It tasted really good but urmz, a lil
    too much cheese. Still YUMMY!

And finally my fish fingers. I was absolutely
    dissapointed at first.

Well that's because there were only
two fish fingers and a whole bucket
of french fries. And i thought
"why the portion so small 1?".

Even baby was like "u're not gonna be
    full with that"

But i have to say, it tasted really
    absolutely FANTASTIC. Yummy
and went well with my chilli sauce
and mayonnaise. And i was wrong
because by the time i finished my second
fish finger, i was so full that i couldnt
    finish my fries!

    RECOMMENDED!

    It's all in the mind

The long awaited finals 4 badminton
    for the Olympics 2008 finally
    arrived. Being broadcasted
    live on Astro @ 8.45 p.m.,
it was a match that everyone
    had anticipated.

    Probably everyone in
    Malaysia settled down
    at their homes, hoping that
we would get our first gold
    medal for the Olympics.

    Who would win this match?
    That was the question

Would it be Lin Dan, world
    No. 1 player from China?

or our very own Lee Chong Wei,
    world no.2 player?

Both players met and played several
    matches before this, nevertheless, both
are equally good. It was hard to tell
which player would actually be the
    one getting the gold medal.

However, to those who have watched
tonights match. It was indeed a huge
    dissapointment or in a straight-forward
way to put this, a disgrace to Malaysia.

Personally, i think Lee Chong Wei had the
skills and ability to beat Lin Dan. He lacked
    only one thing- mental strength.

Basically, you could see that he was nervous
because he repeatedly made the same mistakes
    - hitting the net or hit out! The more nervous
he was with his already no confidence-self,
the more mistakes he made and the more
he looses his focused. And this enhanced his
nervousness and it went on in a circle.

Seriously, his performance for the night
was TERRIBLE. He did not play well,
he did not play like he would be playing for
a finals match, he did not play like he
is a world no.2 player. He was so
stressed out and nervous that he
just couldnt be himself. So you see,
    he is mentally unstable.

    It wasnt a good match.
    Basically, no fight at all.
We thought he would had at least
    lost to Lin Dan 18/19 - 21.
But it was only 12 and the other, 8.

Many would say, advantage is on Lin Dan
because Lin Dan is playing on home ground.
But well, believe me Lin Dan is probably
equally as nervous because he is afraid
of losing as well- just imagine losing in
China, your own homeland. Even more
    disgraceful. Therefore, there was
pressure on him as well. But
as soon as the match started,
Lee Chong Wei's free points for
him got him back his confidence.
He knew he was back in the game
because he's gonna be the one
controlling the match for the night.

But anyway, Lin Dan did a great
job for the night. Frankly speaking,
he did what he was supposed to
do for a finals match. He played
    like a no.1 player!

    In conclusion, there's definitely
a reason why Malaysia nvr gets
    gold for Olympics- players all
low in mental strength. As soon
as they get into finals, they get
kicked in the ass by their opponent.

    Therefore from tonight's match,
you can see that a person can
have all the abilities and skills
but yet could be defeated by
    the condition of the environment
    and their mental state.

And this is part of the reason why
i want to major in psychology.
    It's interesting studying
    ppl's actions and behaviors.
    Why they fail?
    Why would they succeed?
    Interesting trying to do research
    on such matters; matters that
seem so easy to be explained
    using general knowledge but
    there's so much more
    underlying beneath it
    and around it.

    So there goes my passion
    for psychology that is
    continuing to grow as i
go through each sem in college,
    discovering more and more
    explanations about personality.
I know i have definitely made
    the right choice in choosing
    this path =)

    And maybe someday,
    i shall think about
    the road that was
    not taken but still
    feel glad that i have
    decided on this one!
    LOL!

    Camwhore QUEEN ALERT!

    Okay before the camwhore
    moment arrive, i'll share with
you some pix that i've got
when i was in Sg Wang on Friday
    with bb.

Yes, we saw Justin Lo / Zhe Tian
who came to promote his upcoming
concert that will be held @ the
Arena of Stars! In person, i
think Justin Lo isnt as good
lookin as in the pix BUT
    nevertheless, i still
    like him because
    he has a great voice!
    That's for sure!

So here are some of the
few pix that i have uploaded
out of almost 20 pix that
    i managed to take down!

    Justin Lo and MyFM Dj

I like this pic! =) looks cool to me

And this close-up pic of him!

And finally this is my fav haha
    with his eyes closed!

It had been a long time, almost 5 days
or so that i havent been updating my
blog. Well that's because i'm pretty
    busy handling my college matters
and had been hanging around @
home with my brother as he
just left this afternoon back to
the States. He's so not looking
    forward to going back knowing
he has another 4-6 years to
    complete his PhD. Hahaha!

    Can't believe 8
weeks passed by so fast and
now even my holiday has come
to an end and it's back to
    college AGAIN.

But i'm only taking 2 subs next
    semester- developmental
    psychology and Public speaking
(ewww). And thank god, i got
    A- for my human personality.
    It's still not good enough
    since i wanted a pure A
but well, let it be... *sigh*

    Anyway last wednesday,
i went to Sri Utama in the
    morning to collect my
    SPM and PMR cert so
    that i could start applying
    for my Uni in Aussie.

    It seemed so weird walking
into the hallway that was once
so familiar to me but now
a place that has turned so
    strange with almost so many
    unfamiliar faces around.
The lil form 1 kids i once knew
when i was a senior in the school
all grew up, looking so much
    more mature now!

    And damn, when i was
    in form 5 around
    two years back, my school
    was already korean-dominated.
Now i wouldnt even call it
    Sri Utama International
    School, i would call it,
    Sri Korean Utama International
    School. hahahahhaha =)

    Most of my korean friends
    have graduated =( and
i didnt get to see Ju Young,
though we said we would meet
again when i go back there.

    Anyway thank god,
    Jing Ying accompanied
me to collect my SPM cert.
At least i don't feel so lonely
being the only "alien" of the
    school! =) thanks Jing Ying!

    Anyway, while we were waiting
at the school's office for my
    SPM cert, we camwhored.
Haha and we saw a very cute
    primary korean boy who
    had on a pair of
    socks with the korea's
    flag on it.... so adorable!

After i got my SPM cert, we
    planned to eat lunch together!
Jing Ying suggested a cafe @
desa setapak which i didnt know its
    existence. See how smart Kathleen
    can be especially since Jing
    Ying is actually the one
    living in Kepong and
I live in Setapak all my life.

    Camwhored with spongebob in
    Jing Ying's car! Spongebob loves
camwhoring as well =) he's overly
    delighted that he could camwhore
with us- his smile was so big that
you can see his two bunny teeth.

I took this while she was parking @ desa setapak
and immediately after that, jing ying couldnt
start her car. Don't know what's the problem
but we decided to get into the cafe first.

So here we go, feeling cafe! A cafe full of
    feelings!

So much of feelings that Spongebob
had to join us for lunch!

While Jing Ying was busy calling
Soon Tat and others to rescue her
car, we started to order our food!

My favourite part was when Jing
Ying asked for "hot water ice"
    in cantonese (kuan sui shuet)!
And the waiter was like "HAH?",
    looking extremely shocked.
Even i was shock and started
    laughing! Hahahhaha... and of course
    the waiter too started laughing!

Jing Ying is just so cute but well
she said she always order that
and normally ppl dont get shock
Hahahaha.. i dont know ler but
i think it's almost like calling
    ice lemon tea without ice!

So here goes her HOT WATER ICE!

And my iced jasmine honey green tea!

Both are roxy flip-flop fans =)

Tom Yam soup that tasted really good.
    Spicy = Tasty!

Jing Ying's baked spaghetti. It was really
bad because it was SOOO MILKY.
And we both nvr tried baked spaghetti
with milk in it before! Ewww...

    Anyway, she ended up abandoning
her baked spag and shared with me
my plate of fried rice which tasted
    much better!

    Yumm!!

    Jing Ying & Spongebob

    Me and spongebob, hey where
    is spongebob looking at?.....Maybe @
    the tom yam soup because
    it was really that GOOD!

    Camwhored downstairs of Feeling
Cafe while waiting for Yu Shen
to drive over from his house
to take a look @ Jing Ying's car!

Mr. Tan Yu Shen finally arrived.
There he was taking a look at the car.

While he did that, we sat at the side of the road
and camwhored again! *swt* to the max!

Okay, I have to admit and apologize
to mr. Yu Shen here because all this while
i nvr thought he could fix a car.

Not that i look down on him but comparing
him with Soon Tat or Siang Su who
actually has lots of experience in fixing
cars, Yu Shen doesn't really has any.
So we never thought that by poking a bit
here and there (that was what he did),
    he actually REALLY managed
to get the car to start up again.

    And jing ying said this:
    "He definitely saved my day"

    So lesson to be learnt:
Nvr judge a book by its cover.

Sorry Mr. Tan Yu Shen, i
    underestimated you eventhough
    you are my ex-classmate!
    hahahahhahahah!

Mr. Tan Yu Shen here is a
    future-lawyer but yet
fixing cars also sap sap sui!

Not only that, he even posed for my camera
here, warghh like so yeng oni.... =.=

    So what's that?

    Lawyer can.
    Fixing cars can.
    Model ALSO can.

    HAHAHA! ok kidding only!
    He didnt pose, it was
    just some random shot!

    *I've got advertisement
fees for this part of my post*

By the time everything was done,
it was almost 1.30 p.m. and
Jing Ying at first didnt want
to go for her briefing @ KDU
    College anymore but well
in the end, we still went to
    KDU college and she attended
    the briefing for 15 mins
before it ended while i waited
    for her.

    After briefing, we went to
    One Utama. Oh yah,
    i like Jing Ying's car.
    It's so sporty-ish and
    white...i love white!
    Cute right?

We went to Starbucks. Had a drink!

    And camwhored....

Around 4.30 p.m., we felt really
tired. So we went back to Jing Ying's
house in Kepong. It wasnt that far.
    Around 10-15 mins away from
    One Utama.

I love her room. So many posters and
do you see my pic with her there?

    And we camwhored again!
*swt* we just cant get enough lor...
Haha. I like the big mirror.

After that Jing Ying went to sleep
for a lil' while. And i watched her
    dvd, KOIZORA. Omg it's bloody
    good. I LIKE THE CHARACTER
hiro.... he's so YENG & romantic.
And okay, i cried. Its a true
story and it was so touching.

    Around 8 p.m., we camwhored
    again while waiting for
Wai Sion to fetch us back to
    Genting Klang for dinner.
    He was late because he
    finished work @ 8 p.m. as well.
    Wai Sion is MY EX-CLASSMATE
as well- to those who dont know
    him.

    We were bored. Damn bored.

All of a sudden we decided to take
    down the LALA POSE!
    So feel the lala-ness NOW!

    Lala pose "1"

    Lala pose "2"

    Lala pose "3"

    Lala pose "4"

    Lala pose "5"

    Good job.
    Requirement fulfilled.
    We're now certified 100% Lala.
    LMAO!

    So finally Wai Sion arrived.
This is him driving & complaining
all the way about me seldom not
going out with them. Say me
    "mou sam".
    But i told him this,
"the heart is inside of me, not
    outside there"- meaning that
eventhough i dont hang out with
them that often anymore but i still
do care, so it's YAU SAM =)

    Okay, we were actually heading
back to genting klang's Station 1 Cafe
because there was supposed to be a gathering
    for my ex-high school classmates / philip's
farewell as he too, is leaving to the States.

*Credit some of the pictures to Jing Ying.

As soon as i walked into the Station 1 Cafe,
saw Mel, hugged her and we started
screaming or ,it sounded more like, shrieking
    - okay it wasnt even that loud but the guys
    were all like

"ee kath do we know you? that's your table,
    we're not sitting with you"
    HAHAHAHAHA!

And Huei Yeow was complaining that
i was talking so loud that by the end of the
night, his left ear will go deaf.
    Sorry lor, at least you'll
remember who made u deaf yah?
    *evil laugh*

Tien Keat doing his stop pose!
    Hahaha....

See all hiding. Don't wanna get caught on camera.
L to R: Pui man (apple), Kheng Onn (ah Onn),
Chee Guan (mr. 謝霆鋒/tze ting fung look-alike)
Here they go again! Avoiding our cameras.

Ah Onn. Chee Guan covering. Philip.

Chee Guan: " Stop it paparazzis,
    i need my privacy"
    LMAO!

    Chee Guan & Philip.

    Me & My-super-long-no-see-SUPER-
    GOOD-JIE-MUI Melanie.

We took many photos before we were able to
get these few nice ones. Thanks to Kheng Onn,
Chee Guan, Huei Yeow & Tien Keat who were
making really NASTY BUT FUNNY comments
which i havent heard for a REALLY LONG TIME!
I mean my first few months without all this
"verbal abuse" words in college felt so weird
because Mel & I got all this every single day
since Form 3 until Form 5 from the guys.
So we were pretty used to it and often
"zha" them back or pretend we
don't know who they were referring to.
    Hahahahhahaha.

    Anyway they said in canto:

"correct de la, one cat and one malau (monkey)
    taking picture together"

" Eee not nice, zhu pa "

" Lemme tell you why you're invited to this
gathering? Kitchen not enough Zhu Pa, so
    need you to come"

    HAHA. WHATEVER! =)

Kim Horng & Kheng Soon (ah soon).
Always see this Kim Horng @ One Utama.
    Damn free *swt*

    Random pic!

Blur pic because of those water spraying-cooling
machine thingy. This is ah sim. Sesat guy.
Form 5 2006 reunion wor. What is he doing
    there? He's actually a senior
of mine who hangs out a lot with my
    classmates.

Sim, Kim Horng, Cheng Yek doing some funny
    pose.

    Philip- star of the day.
    He changed a lot. Hairstyle
i mean, it used to be the messy
    korean hairstyle which looked
    darn nice! Now it's long!
    Surprise surprise.

    Wai Sion & Philip

    Top: Wai Sion
L to R: Tien Khai, Alvin, Philip, Chee Guan,
    Yu Shen & Cheng Yek
    finally some girl group pics,

Jun, me, melanie & Jing Ying with Ah Sim &
    his cigarette as ca-le-fe!

Jun, Me & Mel. Cheng Yek, Soon Tat & Ah Sim's
    cigarette as ca-le-fe again!
    Finally group picture.
Jing Ying, Wai Sion, Onn, Soon, Tien Keat
& Apple not in the pic. *sigh*
    Anyway in the pic:
Tien Khai, Alvin, Philip, Chee Guan, Yu shen,
Cheng Yek, Jun, Soon Tat, Melanie, Me, Ah Sim,
    Kim Horng & Huei Yeow.
The people that were not able to attend this
gathering *swt* = Siang su, Yau Hong, Panya,
    Chua Qi Yang.
Haha & this is Chee Guan, who drove me back
to my house after the gathering.

the GIRL was here at 5:54 PM - Melbourne .

The Korean Waves That Hit Me

    Korean singers, actors,
    actresses & dramas had been
    flooding the Asian entertainment
industry for the past few years!

First thing that came to mind
    was "nothing special" until
    i MYSELF got tangled up
    with korean music and dramas!

I admit that i do love the
    emo-ness of Korean dramas
    which can NVR BE
    replicated by others.

    Korean dramas then led
    me to fall deeper into
    the R&B/hip hop
    dominated music
    industry in Korea.

    Why it attracts me?
    Sick of the western
    R&B... so i need some
    sort of change, something
fresh! And i found it here!
R&B with a mixed of asian
flava' to it which brings out
    something different!

    But all these years in
    Malaysia, groups like
    Tohoshinki & Super Junior
    dominated the scene!

    Are they really that good?
    I personally think they're
    over-rated and sorry no offence,
    they can't really sing!

    I dugged more
    into the Korean music scene
    and found more talented singers/
bands that were not so famous
    over here in Malaysia but
    very HUGE in Korea itself.
    Therefore, it's definitely
    worth it to acknowledge
    their contribution as well instead
    of supporting bands that
    only consist of pretty looking
    guys!

First of all, it's BIG BANG

    "B to the I to the G
    B to the ANG
    Let's do it
So get them hands up high
We gon' get this party started right"

Do not be fooled by their looks,
though i admit they do not look
like supermodels to me but if you
love music with upbeat tempos, then
Big Bang is definitely FOR YOU.

    I discovered them just recently,
though i've heard of them several
times. After listening to "Lies", i
knew i like this band. Their songs
    rock your house UPSIDE DOWN!
Just listening to them, makes you
feel like dancing! It's all so dance-y.
    And i LOVE it.

    Secondly, i love them because
    they're so talented. Most of
them are just about 1 or
2 years older than me and
    the youngest in the band
is 1 year younger than me.
    They write their own lyrics
    and compose their own songs!

Yes, they did a few covers
but MAJORITY of the songs in
    their albums, EP and singles
    are ORIGINAL! I am
    totally addicted to "Lies",
    "Oh Ma Baby", "Last Farewell",
    "Crazy Dog", " So beautiful",
    "BIG BANG" and many more!

    However if you cant take
    too much of R&B & hip-hop,
    i say AVOID! Because there's
only 1 or 2 slow songs (not that
slow either) out of 40-60 songs!

But BIG BANG is still the
    bomb! Love their live concerts
and they're one of the top bands
    in Korea right now!

    Second - Lee Hyori

I don't need much intro to this girl.
I did a post on her once and I LOVE
    her... She's gorgeous, she dance
really well, she used to be in a
    very famous girl group known
as FIN. K.L. and now she's doing
solo! Many said she looks a lot
like Boa but i disagree because
    Boa looks more innocent but
    Hyori, she's sexier!

    If you havent watch
    Any Motion, IT'S A
    MUST WATCH! =)
    That song was the bomb
    and still is the BOMB
    to me!

    Unlike Boa, who's widely
    recognized in Asia,
    Hyori keeps her profile
    pretty low and not many
    people apart from Koreans
    know about Hyori.

    I love her because she's
    just amazing! Great performer,
great singer (again if you like
    R&B-ish music), FANTASTIC
    DANCER and additionally,
    looks very hot with
    great personality.

    Third- RAIN

I dont think i have to intro this guy to
anyone at all. He has made Korea
really proud being able to breakthrough
    the American market.

Few years back, there was all the
hype about Rain lookin cute and
    whatsoever. I didnt agree because
he looks so-so to me until i watched
    Full House, which made me
    changed my mind about Rain.
    He does look adorable whenever
    he smiles, looking almost like
the local's famous soft toy, Mashi
    Maro.

    Furthermore, Rain worked
    really hard throughout the
    years to be this successful.
He came from a very complicated
    background and yet managed
to pull through and finally able to
live the life of his dreams.

I do like some of Rain's songs,
    which sounds really good! But
i love his dancing more than
    anything else. He's a real
    good dancer but then again,
    Korean singers all dance
    really well, so maybe i
    could be impressed with
    something that could
    be not so impressive for
    the locals.

    Like him or hate him,
    he's UNFORGETTABLE
    in Asia for his contributions!

    Fourth- M.C the MAX

I've only got the chance to listen to a few
of their songs, whether they suck or not
i don't really know BUT i can guarantee
that if you love slow ballads,
    you will love them.

The lead singer HAS A POWERFUL voice
and i am so blow away by it. I say give them
a try! Despite not having artificial pretty
looking members in the group, high quality
music should be given a chance to prove
that they deserve to stay on in the industry.

    Fifth- SE7EN

Se7en never fails to amuse me! Very much like
Rain, he's a fantastic dancer. I liked him since
the first time i listened to his very first debut
album! If you love American R&B, hip-hop
mix with the singer's own style of presenting
it, then check out Se7en. He's just one word-
    GREAT!

    finally, sixth- Shinhwa

Another band in Korea that is absolutely
famous and is one of Korea's longest lasting
boy band! Heard a few of their albums and
they're pretty good. Not another Super Junior/
    Tohoshinki-alike because THEY
can definitely sing better! (no offence
again but SJ & TS just doesn't impress
me much other than their looks)
    So check these guys out!
Up till date, they have around 10-11 albums.
To last that long, they must be SOMETHING.

    ♥ Saturday, August 9, 2008 ♥
Brilliant or Genius or maybe both

Baby and I went to one utama
today! But this time round, we had
company! It was Natalie, Wui Chun,
    Jing ying and Shee May.

We had our lunch @ Wong Kok Char
Chan Teng and as usual the food
isnt that good. Sorry, i'm just a
    loyal Kim Gary fan! =)
    Not because Kim Gary sounds
cooler or more popular than the
rest but because the food taste
    much better @ Kim Gary.
    All hands down!
    No buts
    BECAUSE...
    KATHLEEN
    SAYS SO!

    After lunch, we went our
    separate ways because
    they wanted to watch
"meet dave" but bb and I
    wanted to watch "21".
So before we did our goodbyes,
    HOW COULD WE NOT
    take pictures ?!!?
These days, it has become a
    custom to take pictures
    with your friends each and
    every time you see them.
Even if it's for that 1 minute,
you just have to take it down!

Not taking picture is almost like
    being rude to somebody by
    walking away from them
    without saying goodbye.

    So being the POLITE ME,
    i didnt want anybody to
    be shouting @ me
    "Where's your manners,?!!?"

    Therefore, i camwhored with
    Jing Ying & Shee May.
Natalie didnt want to take pic-
    she thinks she doesnt look
    good enough today.
    But i disagree, she's adorable!
    And so skinny now! Aiyoh!!!
    Compared to me, i mean,
    just look at my pictures!

I dont think i need to
    explain how fat
    i really am after you
    see this!

    * warning spoilers ahead!!!

Okay 21 was such a big thing in
the States. Even when i went there
for holi a few months back, every
bookstore that i go to, there were selling
    the "21" book.

I was curious then and read thoroughly
the short synopsis that they always
have behind the books! And the storyline
does seem really interesting but since the
    front cover wrote something like
"on the big screens" or something
like that, i didnt bother to buy the book
because i was just too lazy!

I told myself, "just watch it in
the cinemas". It'll come to Malaysia
    soon. So the anticipated moment
    finally arrived.

This movie didnt let me down!
Even bb said this is the first
time i'm praising a movie so
    much. I mean the movie
    is just so good- brilliant!
    Probably y'll go like,

    "what's so brilliant about it?
    Ocean Thirteen was even
    better!"

    These are reasons why:-

First of all i love the movie
    because the main character
is just so darn smart or you
call him a genius. I mean
    with his results and all,
    it just blows you away.
But well he was from MIT
    and is accepted into
    Harvard, what can i say?!?

    Secondly, i love the fact
    that this movie is based
on a real live story of
    some MIT student.
    So the event really
    did happen. That
    makes it even more
    brilliant & exciting!

    Third, it's not a wonder
    that his story fascinated
    the guy so much that
it was turned into a movie
because damn if i were to
    apply for scholarship, competing
    with all the other geniuses
and i'm required to write about
    my own life experiences,
    I DONT HAVE ANY.
    Nothing as interesting as his!

    Fourth, his determination
    to get US$300,000
    for Harvard tuition fees
    is just amazing.
I would nvr go that far
    to get the US$ 300,000!
    But then he's real smart
    and his only problem was
    the money. To let money
come in the way of studying
    @ Harvard. That's kinda wasted.

    Fifth, if only i could
    count cards like him,
    i am probably a billionaire
    by now. Visiting Las Vegas
    every month to win some
    beautifullllll cashhh!!!!

All in all, 21 is just
    damn good!
    As much as i
    envy his smartness,
    i shall NOW show
    you my proud moment @
    Harvard.
    *LMAO*

This is some random pics i took
with the big "rogue" @ the
    advertisement board! Haha,
it's like all bloody and gross!
    But darn hilarious!
    It's actually my finger
    causing such an effect!

    Fear me!!!
    Swim hard!
    Or you SHALL die
    tragically in my
    MOUTH!

    All that in cinemas
    on 7th august!

    *Right, like i'll watch
    such a lame movie!

    雨下好亂 半個夜晚
The rain falls chaotically for half a night

    你不在身邊怎麼晚安
You're not by my side; how do I have a good night?

    天好藍 要和你一起看
The sky is so blue; I wanna gaze at it with you

    起風時有你來溫暖
And when the wind picks up, there's always you
    to give me warmth

    心事簡單 一句說完
My thoughts are very simple; I can say it in one sentence

    要我們永遠不會分開
I want us never to be apart

    有眼淚 也因為你燦爛
There're tears, but they're cheerful because of you

    你微笑因為我盛開
    You smile; because of me

    要謝謝愛 讓你
[I] want to thank love, for letting you

    在我身邊守護我的未來
stay by my side and watch over my future.

    有多少美麗奇蹟
    So many beautiful miracles

    你手心裡全都記載 好期待
    You kept them in your palm;
I'm so looking forward to that

    要謝謝愛 讓我
[I] want to thank love, for letting me

    學會寬容學會體諒關懷
learn to take things in their stride, and
    to empathize and to care

    像陽光陪著大海
    Like how the sun accompanies
    the sea

    是平靜還是澎湃
Whether it is calm or choppy

    都是愛
    It's all love.

Charming Black Heels VS The Curse

    Went to MidValley with bb
    this morning, had lunch @
Kim Gary and had to wait
darn long before there was a
    space for us!

    Anyway, we watched
    "the mummy" today and
    it really sucks!
But as we left the cinema,
i saw wui chun, jing ying,
    xue wei and most of
    my juniors!

    Midvalley is too boring
for us so we went to Gardens
    to get baby's Kikstyo t-shirt!
This is the one with Aki
    Hoshino and it costs around
    RM 257!
And bb loves it so much!
    There were just way
    too many designs and i
    could see bb's eye shining
    with excitement as he
    goes through the rack!
    He probably wanted to
    buy all hahahah but
    well we only got one!

    After buying the t-shirt,
    we left to Sg wang.
    Walked around to
    look for lil miss sunshine.
Found a few but the designs
werent the one that i want!
So we didnt buy any! But
    instead, i found the black
    heels that Jusco was
    selling the other time
    and this time round,
    they have size 4!
    Eventhough a lil
    loose for my
    *ahem* size 3 feet
    but we still bought it
    in the end!

And this is me again camwhoring
    in the car

    For dinner we had
    Shabu Shabu!
    Yummy tom yam!
    But i realised it's not
    that spicy anymore!
    *saddening*
    and must boycott
    them for increasing
    the price! *sigh*
